Michael Arenal's Non-Nosrider - The Trimmer
We've known Michael Arenal for a number of years now, and while we have discussed an East Coast Shaping Trip, it took some time to make it happen with both of our schedules.
Michael made a name for himself as an incredibly versatile and skilled shaper, and even won the 2023 Icons of Foam at The Boardroom Show. While Michael loves to shape all types of boards, he is probably most known for his logs and gliders. So while he was here, we asked him to shape us something special that offers some different "feels" than your traditional noserider. After some discussion, we landed on the Trimmer. A non-noserider of sorts, that "Trims" for days but offers oh-so-much-more. The speed and projection are unmatched to any traditional style longboard we've ever ridden, and it loves to be "surfed" and pushed through the turns. If you're not looking to hang your toes over the nose but want an ultra fun longboard for all kinds of conditions, this might just be the perfect addition to your quiver.

From Michael:
TRIMMER -- The name says it all. A board all about the trim. Inspired by iconic designs of the 60’s with a modern flair, the Trimmer is shaped with roll flowing into panel vee through the tail. Combined with the near centered wide point and more continuous curve in the outline than you’re probably used to. With a square tail offering nimble turns, and quicker acceleration in smaller surf than a pintail. This board is all about connecting you with a wave riding experience centered around less thinking and more flowing.
Wave Range: Knee to Shoulder High
Recommended Length: 9’0 - 10’0
